Location of apartment Plaza Nueva Loft 2

Location of apartment Alhambra

In the heart of old Granada and crowned by Granada´s famous Palace Fortress, the Alhambra hill - or al-Sabika Hill to give its proper name - rises up overlooking the whole of the city and the plains beyond. It is bordered to the north by the Darro River and Albaicín neighbourhood and to the west by the central Plaza Nueva. The Cathedral, main shopping district, and the Plaza Bib-Rambla are only a short walk away.

Cuesta Gomérez rises up the Alhambra hill from Plaza Nueva, and leads to the main access to the monument through the Puerta de las Granadas. The relatively short but steep climb is punctuated by souvenir shops, guitar-makers and artisans workshops.

To the south of the Darro River, on the lower part of the hill, there is a small network of occasionally steep and winding streets including many Casas Carmen. Unique to Granada, it is a traditional-style house with a pleasure garden and orchard - a country house in the middle of the city.

Highlights

  • The Alhambra and Generalife, the famous Palace and Gardens
  • Views from Mirador Almanzor Alta towards the Centro, Albaicín and Sacromonte
  • Santa Ana Church - a renaissance church with moorish bell-tower just off Plaza Nueva
  • Modern-day Hammam, Arab Baths on Santa Ana street

"A nice apartment in a wonderful location."

Review for a stay in Jul 2014 - Kim, Adelaide (Australia)

We enjoyed the stay in the little apartment..
The apartment could have had more tourist information to help those new to Granada.
For example: recommendations of restaurants and the best walking tours.
The internet stopped working for the last 48 hours which was annoying.
Overall, a good little apartment.

"C'était bien"

Review for a stay in Mar 2014 - Jean, Bruxelles (Belgique)

"Value for Money"

Review for a stay in May 2013 - Katherine & Peter, East Malvern (Australia)

Nor a good start when the lazy cab driver stopped at the start of the street (which was just by the information centre), leaving us to wheel suitcases 100m down the cobble-stoned road and then up a 10m incline to the apartment itself. That said the apartment was very comfortable and we found it's position suited us. It was the second apartment we had rented from veo apartments and we found both them and their apartments to be very good.
